Description
Crush-Tear-Curl is a manufacturing process that gives CTC Tea its unique appearance, aroma and taste. The dried tea leaves are made to go under a sequence of cylindrical rollers which have sharp teeth that will crush, tear, and curl the leaves. This process converts the tea leaves into moist small pellets. These pellets will undergo further fermentation to bring out the flavour (tannins). It is then dried and graded based on the size. Leaf teas infuse slowly and are rich in flavour, sacrificing some strength in the process.
